Default Spell Crits and Error 7

Melee crits, why not give spells the exact same chance to crit depending on governing attribute? Crit makes for ~1.4x damage, same as melee crits. Every other game I'm ever played has spell crits.

Error 7.... what in the hell is going on with this glitch. Fix it already. You can't possibly tell me its unfixable.

Because a single spell will always do more damage than a single attack, and because certain spells can ignore armour altogether.

Goodness, spell crits would turn the game into all caster spike all the time. Better hope your monk gets a crit infuse, or you're toast!

Please no.

give eles spell crits cuz they don't ignore armour and and are more affect by armour then most classes (no built in armour penertration), except for air

Unless you're a warrior. Warriors have the highest damage output potential in the game.

That would make +1's to spells less useful.

That's easy, just have them put Scourge sacrifice on you.

But then ANet has to change the skill description first: sacrifice half health instead of lose half health

This would not make for any huge difference. At 16 of the governing attribute thats a whopping 20% crit chance. Keep in mind a crit is only 1.4x the original damage too. Look at how very, very, very few teams actually use eles for damage. Statistically this would only make eles and other spellcasters do all of 1.08x original damage at 16 of the governing attribute. If you think thats huge, compare spell damage compared to warrior damage.

Oh and as far as a spell doing more damage than any single attack. Lightning orb at 16 air is tied for the single highest damage spell? It is... 147 on a soft caster? A war with JI, str of honor, brutal weapon and who knows what, can hit for 200+ with eviscerate, not counting the additional 100 damage from deep wound.

1: Take out everything except for "except for air" and i'll use that as my rapport^^.

2: That is only true to warriors, who are designed to take hits.

what a load of bull, even the ele's air magic attribute outclasses the damage output of all of the warriors attacks. Elementalists are made for damage, warriors are made for tanking. You sac an elementalist on a warrior and a warrior on a warrior, the elementalist will have the profession down much faster. You take a warrior on an ele and an ele on an ele. The warrior will kill the ele, but the second ele will do it much faster.

When it comes to damage output, elementalists are the masters of damage. They make up for it by having a high average of DP than other classes^^.
